This happened a few months back, when the weather first started to turn cold. My students were preparing for dismissal when I noticed Linus was fumbling with his gloves. I made a general announcement that everyone should be diligent in making sure they put on any hats/gloves/scarfs to school as this is what their Moms and Dads would want. A moment later Linus looks at me and says, "Yeah, Mrs. Sunshine, I need to make sure I don't lose my gloves. My Dad told me that he'd be (voice lowers to a whisper) really pissed off if I lost them."
Oh no he didn't. He did not just say to me "really pissed off" with the straightest poker face I have ever seen. I don't know how I held it together, but deep down inside I was laughing....hard!
